The United States Patent and Trademark office has awarded another patent to Pivot Point Incorporated for our development of a new fastening device we have called the Nylon Lanyard.
A lanyard is typically a handmade steel cable assembly used for the light-duty retention of pins,
fasteners, dustcaps, chucks, and other components to equipment. The new Lanyard is injection molded as one piece from
Ultraviolet Stabilized 100% 6/6 Black Nylon. This development in material and process offers substantial cost savings
over steel lanyards alternatives and the new variation is just as suitable in many applications.
The Nylon Lanyard features an open loop on one end which the user fashions through a permanent snapping mechanism. Two styles available from
stock offer either a molded loop or a molded eyelet on the other end, allowing the lanyard to be attached to equipment via looping,
riveting or with a screw.
